That Post Where I Give Away Some Fun Stuff

Hi, friends!

In honor of my sweet friend, Holley, and the fact that her new book is officially releasing tomorrow, I’m doing a giveaway.

P.S. I’m a total gift-giver, and I haven’t done nearly enough giveaways in this space, so this is perfect!

So, first up, I’m so excited about her new book, You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream: Opening the Door to All God Has For You. I got an advance copy of it because I’m part of the Dream Team, and I’ve been happily burying my nose in it during the past two weeks. I’m not quite finished yet, so the review will come later, but let me just say…

Friends, you want to read this book.

Holley writes with Truth and beauty, and I finish every chapter knowing I need to stop and process and reflect…but I also fight the urge to keep reading because it honestly feels like she’s sitting down to have coffee with me every time I open the pages.

So, I’m giving one of you a copy of her new book.

:)

Oh, and because I really love you all, I’m throwing in a couple extras, too…

Some chocolate. My very favorite chocolate.

And a $10 Starbucks gift card.

A good book + chocolate + coffee = some perfect time spent, in my opinion. :)

To enter…

1. Leave me a comment. I’d love to hear about your God-Sized dream if you’ve got one. If not, feel free to tell me about the weather, your favorite kind of chocolate, or you can give me your opinion on whether or not you think I should add a few streaks of dark blue to my hair. (‘Cause I’m totally thinking about it. ;))

2. Share this post on Facebook. (And come back and leave me another comment.)

3. And I’ve gotta be honest here…I don’t use Twitter like I should. But if you tweet this link, hop back over and leave me another comment, and I’ll give you another entry. (And you can follow me @barefootmel if you don’t already. ;))

Contest ends Saturday night/Sunday morning at midnight, CST. (I never know what day that actually is…hope that’s specific enough! :)) And U.S. residents only…sorry. Someday I’ll do an international giveaway!

I’ll announce the winner on Sunday.

Good luck! And what are you waiting for? Enter!

And thanks for stopping by, friends! :)

  1. Since I took the photo, does that mean I get extra entries? :)

  2. πŸ˜‰ Wish I lived closer so we could share some coffee and chocolate! Adoption is one of my God-sized dreams. We can’t do it yet, but someday…

  3. Hmmm…my God-sized dream is living itself out right now…a little crazy busier than I had dreamed, though! πŸ˜‰
The weather: snow…snow…maybe more snow Monday. At least it’s almost March! Can’t last forever!
All chocolate is awesome but Trader Joes Dark Chocolate is especially amazing and somehow I can stop at one little piece and my craving is fixed!
YES DO THE BLUE STREAKS! Some decisions in life are hard and confusing; this one is not. πŸ˜‰ It’s fun; do it…and then post pics!

    • I’ve only had Trader Joe’s dark chocolate once, and it WAS good…so maybe I have two favorites! :) Thanks for stopping by, Londa!

  4. Hi Mel! It’s been a while since I’ve said hi. Can you believe how long it’s been since our camp days?! My God sized dream …ok I have many! … would be to take our whole family on a short term missions trip to a South American country. We are learning Spanish as a family in our homeschool and we’d love to be able to use it for the Lord!

    • Oh, I know…time flies, doesn’t it?! I love that dream…how cool that you are learning Spanish as a family, too! Thanks for stopping by, Angela! Blessings. :)

  5. I shared on Facebook!

  6. I just want to comment and say that adding a blue streak to your hair would be incredible!!
I love reading your posts and this book by your friend sounds amazing–she sounds amazing!
My God sized dream is to know without a doubt that I showed Christ to my kids every day and in everything I do and that they will live every day of their lives for Him. IT might be cheesy and something that people say “duh” to, but it is my heart’s prayer, desire and dream!
    Love ya lady!!

    • Not cheesy…and not as easy as it sounds, either! I love it…and I miss, you friend! We need to get together soon…somehow. Maybe meet halfway for a day or two? We should talk soon! :) Love ya!

  7. K. You don’t need to add me to the contest, but I just want to say HECK YES to the blue streaks. :)

  8. Hi! I have a God-sized dream, more than one actually, but I can’t share the really big one, because not all the people involved are ready for it, that makes it even bigger, if you know what I mean.

  9. So I may be missing something, but how do you post to Facebook from this site? I know I must be missing something, can someone help a girl out. I did post it on my timeline, but only from sharing it because it was already in my newsfeed. Thanks for all help.
As for God sized dreams I am enjoy following yours :) Just read a book, my hands came away red by Lisa McKay fiction about indonesia, looking forward to reading your one day:)

    • I’ll count that share since I saw that you posted it. :) There’s a little button under the post on fb where you can click share. Or you can just copy and paste the link into your status. You got it, no worries. :)

I’ve heard a lot about that book…so you recommend it? It’s on my reading list for the year, so we’ll see!

Hope you guys are doing well…we miss you!

  10. Share on facebook, and tweeted it. Not that I have a huge following on twitter . . . but you said . . . . πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks, April! (My following isn’t huge, either…I haven’t quite made the leap into the tweeting world, though I do use it sometimes.) Blessings! :)

  11. My God sized dream is to one day be a Midwife that does home births. Oh and adding blue to your hair would be so cool! Go for it!

  12. I tweeted but I don’t have a facebook account…so I guess I am only eligible for one entry.

    • I think your dream is amazing…and I think you would be an incredible Midwife! So go for it! You got two entries…comment + tweet. Thanks! :)

  13. My God-sized dream is to make income working from home as a blogger/writer so that I can stay at home with my new baby girl as long as possible!

And thank you so much for hosting this giveaway! I told my friend Mandy Mianecki that I am banned from buying anymore books, but I really, really, wanted this book! :-)

    • Amazing dream, Brenda! I “liked” your page on facebook and followed you back…will be fun to keep up with your dream! Blessings! :)

  14. I just shared on FB! Here’s my page: https://www.facebook.com/triplebraided?ref=hl

  15. And I tweeted it! Thank you!! :-)

  16. Marissa says:

My dream? Become a photographer in order to make enough money to get my masters/doctorate in order to teach high school/college literature and writing… while being a wonderful mother who is present often. And I’d totally go for some blue streaks in your hair – it’ll grow out

    Marissa

  17. Hi! I think you should get the dark blue streaks, fun!!

  18. I shared on facebook and with the MOB {moms of boys} FB page.

  19. my favorite chocolate is Orange Creme from Lindt. the only way it could be better is if the chocolate was dark instead of milk. :)

    • I love the chocolate/orange combination, too…but, agreed…dark is much better than milk. Thanks for stopping by, Kandi! :)

  20. I’m living my God-size dream! God so wonderfully allowed my husband and I to get to the point where I could leave my full time employment so I could stay at home and homeschool our children. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me next!

And definitely go for the blue streaks! Why not?! :)

    • I love that you are able to live your God-sized dream right now…so awesome! Blessings as you keep dreaming and investing in the lives of your precious children! (And totally doing the blue…just fyi.) :)

  21. Ok, I have to be the fish that swims upstream, but I say don’t do blue, do purple! Just sayin’!
As for My Dream,up until last spring I had been living my dream. Now that dream is over and I have to find a new one. I was patient for a while, but now I am getting impatient. I have pipe dreams and bucket lists, but putting meaning into my life (other than being the mother of three great girls) is my challenge that I need God’s help with! Perhaps this book would help?

    Purple. Think about it. :)
